Just a quick introduction to who we are and what we are looking for.  Looking for info on what we’re doing here?  Check out the “About” page.

If you want to contribute, simply send me an email.

Basically, I would like to welcome you to our site!  Amanda and I live in Western PA, and we bought a motorcycle at the end of March, 2012.   Since then, we’ve been spending a lot of evenings and weekends exploring a lot of back roads.  We’ve had an absolute blast finding new places, experiencing new things, trying new restaurants, and meeting new people.

One thing that has amazed me is how much there is to see in our area.  I’m sure this is true of any area, but the reason why I say this is that I’ve always had a love for travel.  But until recently, it was a love for travel – interstate or overseas, to places far away and to experience cultures much different than my own.

What I’m realizing now, and am blown away by, is the fact that there is so much to see close to home that most of us miss out on when we go traveling far and wide.  We typically travel by the quickest means possible, and understandably so – there are jobs and family and life responsibilities always pulling on our sleeve, urging us to return home as soon as possible – and so we take the quickest route available to us.

But I digress – I’m trampling on the toes of the “About” page.  As I mentioned, we recently purchased our bike and have started to take the back roads, the “slow” routes.  We’ve been married for about 3 1/2 years now, and have been together for almost five.  I have a 10-year-old daughter who we get to see every other weekend.  We both have decent size families – hers primarily in Western PA, and mine a bit more spread out.  We also have a black lab mix, Sammy Jo, who is famous in her own way.

We would like to welcome you to our page, and invite you to join us as a contributor!  I am contemplating a minor layout change that will hopefully make the site more manageable – primarily, I am considering organizing the main page broken down by state or region, instead of most recently published post.  So if you come back and things look different, don’t worry!  We are always trying to improve.

I hope that you enjoy this site, and more importantly, I hope that you grow and find new places to explore!  Last, I hope that you will join us and contribute your experiences, and as such enrich the lives of others.  God bless and ride/drive safely!
